Introducing new Okana Masterclasses in digital construction, building safety and sustainability, offering industry recognised, accessible training for professionals.

  • May 7, 2025

In today’s fast evolving built environment, accessing expert knowledge can make the difference between standing still and leading the way. Introducing the new Okana Masterclasses – designed to offer accessible, world class, industry recognised training.

Our aim is to equip industry professionals with the skills needed to drive real world impact, today and tomorrow.

Developed in collaboration with leaders in digital construction, building safety, and sustainability, the masterclasses are delivered online via Okana’s new eLearning Platform. They cover topics that are strategy, standards and software led. Combined with professional grade content and certification, each course delivers measurable value for practical implementation.

Expertise you can trust

Okana firstly invited Dr Fadi Castronovo, a leading authority in education and technology integration for the built environment to collaborate with its Training Team, led by Andrew Johnson, to build a virtual Masterclass on how to prefect Autodesk Revit Landscape and Autodesk Navisworks Manage.

For over a decade, Fadi has been an educator and researcher in the built environment for various institutions internationally and has carried out research focuses on this use of innovative technology (including information modelling, virtual and augmented reality, educational games and advanced visualisation) to enhance the delivery process of facilities and infrastructure, from architectural and engineering design to construction and operation management.

This was closely followed by the role out of the Building Safety Act 2022 Masterclass with Mark Snelling, a recognised authority on health, safety and compliance in the construction industry, and Anthony Taylor, who has been instrumental in developing industry standards such as PAS 8673 and PAS 8672 and is a member of numerous influential committees, including the Building Safety Alliance and the British Standards Institution (BSI).

This Masterclass is also accredited by the Association for Project Safety (APS) a powerful endorsement of its quality and professional relevance. It provides essential insights into new duty holder roles, the gateway regime and golden thread compliance for higher risk buildings.

Latest in sustainability

The Okana Masterclasses also cover sustainability leadership through advanced technical offerings such as the Flixo Energy Training Masterclass, developed and delivered by Okana’s sustainability lead, Dr Jon Stinson. Jon has worked, researched, and taught in the field of sustainable architectural technology for over a decade. He has led industry focused applied research projects for the Scottish Energy Centre, authored industry and academic papers, and speaks globally on sustainability strategies and retrofit techniques.

Jon’s Maserclass delivers expert guidance on thermal and hygrothermal analysis where learners can gain hands on experience with Flixo Energy, an industry leading tool for calculating U values, Psi values and thermal bridges in accordance with international standards vital for designing energy efficient, high performing buildings.

Knowledge built for the real world

Our masterclasses bridge the gap between knowledge and application through structured, hands on learning, with some of the core topic areas covering:

  • Conduct clash detection and 4D simulations using Autodesk Navisworks
  • Design sustainable and innovative landscapes in Revit
  • Navigate complex data exchange using Industry Foundation Classes (IFC)
  • Assess and optimise thermal performance with Flixo software
  • Apply digital risk management techniques aligned with the Building Safety Act

Masterclasses offer 50 hours of expert let content, with every module grounded in real scenarios, giving learners the tools to apply immediately on the job or in academic settings.

All content is aligned with key construction industry standards, including:

  • ISO 19650 for Building Information Modelling (BIM)
  • ISO 10211 for thermal analysis using Flixo Energy
  • ISO 16739 for Industry Foundation Classes (IFC)
  • The Building Safety Act 2022, covering compliance and dutyholder responsibilities
